Beginning in 1999, Nutrition 21 launched an ambitious research program designed to bring pharmaceutical quality research to develop a better understanding of the beneficial effects of the trace mineral chromium, in the form of Chromax chromium picolinate.  Nutrition 21’s research program had uncovered what may represent a fundamentally new appreciation of chromium--and other nutrients such as biotin—and their interrelated roles in complex metabolic and biochemical pathways linking diabetes, cardiovascular health, obesity, depression, and other health conditions.  Chromax chromium picolinate is now the leader in the chromium category because of chromium picolinate's enhanced absorption and bioavailability, and the numerous quality clinical studies supporting its safety and efficacy.
